facts marking of the season f1 1982 One turbulent season, Keke Rosberg on its Williams is champion of the world with only one victory, the irregularity of Renault preventing it from reaching the title. The year will see 11 different winners, of which Niki Lauda which has just left its retirement. Villeneuve is killed during the drive in Belgium. The wounds of Pironi, to the Great Price of Germany, put an end A its career. Riccardo Paletti is killed in Canada.

Gilles Villenueve: The Life of the Legendary Racing Driver

1982 - South Africa Hardly six turns after the beginning of the race, the working day of Gilles Villeneuve is already finished. The Turbo one of its Ferrari No 27 jumps. Disappointing day for that which had been classified third with the meeting of qualification.

A few seconds hardly after the accident, a doctor tries to reanimate Villeneuve by cardiac massages and the artificial respiration. The accident occurred with 13h52. Eleven minutes later, one brings it to the hospital by helicopter. The doctors note several very serious wounds of which: fractures of the cervical vertebrae and cutting of the spinal cord. It is maintained in life artificially. Its death is noted with 21h12. It is the shock. This pilot adulated and loved for his ardour and his determination is deceased.
